Bill Allred's Classic Jazz Band

For this, our 10th session, we have assembled the usual members of this organization and have added a couple of new twists. Talented guitarist, Paul Scavarda has joined us in the rhythm section and Terry Myers has added to his already amazing versatility by playing baritone saxophone on several of the 10 member Matty Matlock charts. We have, for the most part, concentrated on the arrangements that could be performed with our 8-piece group. It is very appropriate that on this, our 10th recording, we should again add the two extra pieces and do some more of these great arrangements that require the full ensemble.

To this collection we have added some more of Scott Whitfield’s great work, two new charts by amazing reedman and talented arranger David MacKenzie, several from great arranger Ed Gaston, and even one by the late Joe DeWeese. And lastly, we have found several tunes that we have been playing, but some for some reason or another, have never recorded. Once again we are joined by our incredible piano battalion; Randy Morris, Bill Hunter and Jeff Phillips. I have felt very lucky, over the years, to have surrounded myself with the incredible musicianship and loyalty of this stellar group of musicians.

So join us on our continuing quest to please our fans and confuse the critics. We have managed to survive in this highly competitive business by expanding our style, trying new things, and pushing our collective musical resources...To The Max!
