Herb Harris Jazz Trio Live
Drummer/percussionist Herb Harris has returned to Jazz after
many years of symphonic music, Broadway shows, and television
music production. After his early years of traveling with Vaudeville
show and dance bands, Herb worked with Roy Eldridge, Pee Wee
Russell, Pops Foster, Art Hodes, Joe Wilder, Ron Carter, Walt
Levinsky, and Urbie Green. He played with the New York Philharmonic
for 24 years and has returned to his first love, Jazz.
Here is his message about this recording:
“The members of our trio are musicians who have music
backgrounds of every nature – classical, contemporary,
symphonic and chamber, theatre, pop, soul, ethnic and more.
As with many fine jazz musicians, these affinities are expressed
in our performance.
We respond well to each other musically and
personally. Listening carefully is a natural component of
our existence and, as you
will hear, an idea expressed by one of us is often restated
by the others, with their own twist. Thus, with this interplay
and the command of our instruments, we are able to achieve
freedom of expression and the beauty of collective creation.”
