MICHAEL ANDREW and the ATOMIC BIG BAND – GERSHWIN

This album pays tribute to the music of George and Ira Gershwin with a variety of songs and styles in both vocals and instrumentals. The Atomic Big Band, formed in 2003 for a Sinatra tribute concert, has played multiple concerts including themed tributes, Christmas shows, awards ceremonies, fund raisers, and eventually this Gershwin tribute. With the help of Todd Gershwin, the band did three tours of performing arts centers – a West Coast, a Midwest, and an East Coast tour. The album was recorded in 2017 to supplement these tours. Michael is joined by Michelle Amato for several duets and the result is a clean and elegant presentation of these American classics.

The recording is in stereo on this CD, but on most streaming services it can also be heard in Atmos, immersive and spatial audio for ulta-high resolution.
